About LiberTeach

LiberTeach was founded in 2025. What began as a quarter-long effort, quickly evolved into a long-term passion project; Bella, Megan, and Emi's love for learning legal topics in the process of developing the pilot called on them to organize into LiberTeach. The name itself is a combination of what is central to our work: empowering young people to understand their inalienable liberties as citizens of this country through our teaching model.

While we were each raised in disparate communities from across the country, we quickly found common ground: a deep sense of gratitude for the education we received through our respective K-12 Public Schools. This gratitude was coupled with a critical reflection upon what we realized was missing: despite our everyday engagement with "the law," we had a limited understanding of all that it entailed. As employees, renters, taxpayers, daughters of immigrants, and students, how should we understand our legal responsibilities and privileges? We then began to investigate the systemic avenues through which this gap emerged.
